'ROSSLYN BLOOD' BOOK LAUNCH AT ROSSLYN
Nearly 70 guests - writers and friends - attended the book launch for Rosslyn Blood on Saturday 19 February.
After a lunch and a reading from the book at the Original Rosslyn Inn, guests enjoyed a tour of Rosslyn Chapel during which the author pointed out features which have given Rosslyn Chapel its central place in various mystical theories. Guests saw the gashed stone head which is said to represent the wounded architect of the Temple of Jerusalem; the rich diversity of Knights Templar symbolism carved into the Chapel; the profusion of Green Man fertility synbols; and the walled-off entrance to the vault which legendarily hides the Holy Grail or the treasures recovered by the Templars from the vaults of the runed Temple of Jerusalem. Guests also admired the Apprentice Pillar, said to represent the Norse world-ash tree Yggdrasil uniting heaven, earth and hell.
Author Alastair Sim said:
"It's been a great privilege to be able to launch the book at Rosslyn, whose legends have excited so many people around the world."
Sales on Amazon have continued to be very strong, with the book sitting high in the top 1% of titles available in the UK at the time of writing. Bookshops including Ottakers (Edinburgh) have also ordered 'Rosslyn Blood'.
